Great Success with the Mambatagan Feeding Project

In May, 2010, Bro. Rupert Buscato, our overseer in the Philippines, got a vision to reach out to the very poor children in the Mambatagan school, where some of the poorest children in Cagayan de Oro city (where he lives,) attend school after one friend of his on FB sent him a generous gift of school supplies for poor children in his area. This simple and wonderful gift inspired the bigger vision of giving these children a real nutritious meal once a month, since a large percentage of them are from such poor families that they have to come to school without having anything for breakfast and they often had nothing for lunch either. In so doing, the parents and families of these children would begin to feel Gods love in action for the first time in their lives. In order to put this vision into action, he needed to let others know about the project that began to burn in his heart to help these children and their families, since he is currently doing the work for FHM/LAF dept. without pay and his own family has very limited income, but felt they had more than the families in the area where he felt led to start this ministry work. So, he started talking to his new friends on FB, letting them know what he was planning to do. Since then, God has moved in many of their hearts to give $20 a month or more as they are able to make this project a reality and a VERY BIG SUCCESS for the Kingdom of God.

Now, after 6 months of diligent work on the part of Bro. Rupert , his wife and children and the generous gifts of our Christian brothers and sisters around the world, Bro. Rupert is doing a weekly Bible Study with 34 new believers regularly attending. Not only are they being discipled in their new faith, but together these brothers and sisters on FB did and are doing what Michael and Londa at headquarters just could not do by themselves. They have provided money for Bibles in the Bisayan language , one per family represented at the Bible Studies, and these families are now getting to have some rice for their families, also., besides the meal for their youngest children one time each month. The parents of the children have been cooking the monthly meal for the children with the food provided by the generous gifts of God’s people who have heard about this project from Bro. Rupert or someone else who heard about it from them. Already there has been a large harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God, and more all the time. They are growing in their new found faith and telling others. Teachers are being positively affected and even the principal. They are truly seeing God’s love in action and before this ministry effort of reaching out to 236 young children with some food and school supplies. We want to thank all of you who have and are currently participating in this remarkable work of the Lord in the Philippines.

A special thanks to Del Monte in The Philippines for donating pineapple juice and fruit cups, which make our gifts of love go farther

Update on Africa Life Youth Foundation in Uganda

Africa Life Youth Foundation, one of the projects we help support, directed by Richard Sempala, is dedicated to training up the next generation of youth leaders and equipping youth groups and leaders around Uganda and across East-Africa to most effectively reach the youth in their area. Africa Life Youth Foundation hosts large scale evangelistic events, making united stands for righteousness, that see young people impacted with the Gospel and making decisions for Christ..

http://www.africalyf.org

As part of this essential training of the youth, ALYF is holding Youth Camps from Dec. 10, 2010Jan. 5, 2011.

After 7 days of training, Teams of youths will be going to do field work for 20 days in different places; each Team will have 30 youths plus 3 leaders. They will be helping to renovate elders homes which need repair, building homes for homeless people in Northern Uganda. (Some people, like in Karamoja sleep in mountain caves, others on trees.) In areas of Northern Uganda and some parts of Kenya, Rwanda, and Congo, homes are built from grass and becomes a great danger to lives of people, like in times of civil war, rebels just start homes on fire, burning the people inside. Little kids also cause fires which burn homes as they play games. Your donation of US $2500.00 will help a family to have home of 2 rooms with a toilet. Any donation sent to Freedoms Hope Ministry, Inc., specified for ALYF will be sent directly to them and the gift is tax deductible for USA citizens.

New Life Children’s Home Society Ministry Project in India

New Life Children's Home

New Life Children’s Home

He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward him for what he has done. (Prov 19:17

Every 30 seconds a child dies from hunger-related causes, Thousands of children around the state have no place to call home. Somewhere a little girl is hungry a tiny infant shudders in pain suffering with a disease that could have been preventeda little boy wonders why his mother and father have disappeared. They endure unimaginable living conditions without any hope of a better future. Even worse, many of these children will never be able to hear that Jesus loves and cares for them.

New Life Childrens Home is working to alleviate this tragic reality with homes, education and health care for the children. NLCHSwas established to touch the lives of these needy, lovely children. Room and board as well as clothing, schooling, medical care are provided for these abandoned children. As they live with us, we not only meet their physical and emotional needs, but also raise them up in a Godly environment. There are hundreds of children waiting and seeking shelter at NLCHS. In the face of these great needs you can pray and give better hope to them. We , at FHM/LAF, desire to reach out in love to these needy children.

As a beginning of this effort, we asked our Indian LAF overseer to personally visit Bro. Ravi Kumar and the ministry he has with NLCHS, the widows, and the poor. The report Bro. Peter brought back to us was very positive and the work being done is really phenomenal with very few resources. We believe God would like for us to share the needs there with you, so you have opportunity to give. Bro. Peter is going there again bringing 7 saris for some of the poor women. And while there he will be sharing the Gospel and we are believing for many people to come to the Lord.

ravi-kumar-12-10Ravi Kumar (left) is the director and founder of NLCHS in the village of Dommeru. They provide food for 30 orphans and school for 130 children. The rental fee for the building for school is 80,000 rupees ($1770 USD) per year & was previously paid for by a friend of Bro. Ravis in the USA. The friend can no longer send financial support due family problems. Without a way to meet this need each year, they have no place to educate all these children. Please lift this need up to the Lord in prayer.

Good Shepherd Home needs Latrine doors, Laundry tubs and Water buckets.

On the left is a picture of 1 of 11 latrine doors, needing replaced at GSH orphaned/abandoned childrens ministry in Narsapur, India, where we have been helping to provide basic food for over 5 years for 50 children. Their laundry tubs are now broken like the one pictured on the right. The water buckets are all leaking and have become so rusty they are orange all over the bottom. This is not healthy for carrying their drinking water. They desperately need replacements

We cant give God enough praise .The water buckets have also been paid for. Next newsletter we plan to show pictures of the new doors, laundry tubs for the children to wash their clothes in and water buckets. We thank the Lord and the generous gifter who met these needs for the children.

Join with us in praise to God for answered prayer so quickly.

Christian Pen Pals for new Ghanian believers

Recently, at the request of Bro. Gideon, our LAF overseer in Ghania, we implemented a new Pen Pal program whereby young Christian girls (teenage or young adult age) who are strong in their faith, are connected with a Ghanian teenage girl who is a new believer to write to. Many of these girls have lived on the streets and been sucked into worldly lives prior to becoming Christians. They need the encouragement and strength of a true friend and sister in the Lord, who can help them become strong in their faith. So far, we have 2 girls who have graciously taken their time to be a friend to 2 girls in Ghana. If any other girls, strong in their Christian faith would like to help other girls grow spiritually and expand their own spiritual growth, please let us know. We will need to have a recommendation letter from a Christian brother or sister who knows you well, if the FHM directors dont know you personally and you must be pre-approved before being given anybodys contact information. Please get in touch with us.

Gracious School in Tanzania

Tumaini and Magdalene, who started Gracious School several years ago, have been doing a fantastic job of providing a free education for the poor children outside of Arusha (the capital city). Many of the students are from Muslim families, but they are willing to have their children taught about Jesus in order for them to receive a good education, including being taught English. The children are also taught how to take care of their bodies better by learning to keep clean, fix their hair, etc.

Currently, these amazing ladies and two others who have also donated much time, have been agreeing in prayer for a piece of land for expanding the school grounds. The particular piece of land they hope to be able to acquire is a banana plantation adjacent to the small school property they now have. They ask all of us to join with them in prayer for the needed land, whether this one or another even better property that they dont know about.

Previously, FHM/LAF was able to help them to have locks on their doors and windows, so they could leave their school supplies in the classroom at night without having to pack them back and forth each day on their backs. This has been a big blessing.

The children are coming home to their relatives or caregivers (many or orphans) with new stories of Jesus and His love for them and some of the families are now becoming believers in the true God and His Son, Jesus Christ. It is an awesome opportunity to spread the Gospel.

We pray and agree with Tuma and Magda that God will meet all of their needs for the ministry He has put on their hearts. If God puts it on your heart to help them, please note Gracious School on your check , money order, or PayPal message, so we will get it to the ministry arm you desire. Thank you for your help.

Isaiah 58:6-9

Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen; to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelterwhen you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.”
